Introduction to Competitive Shooting 101

There are so many options when it comes to competitive shooting. Which discipline to shoot, what gun, what gear, what club and the list goes on! It can take a while to figure all this out and my goal is to give you the information you need to start this journey.

This class will introduce you to two of the major disciplines out there; USPSA & Steel Challenge. Once introduced we will cover the unique and challenging intricacies found in both disciplines. targets, scoring, basic rules, divisions & classes, range commands, gear & equipment, how to navigate Practiscore and lots more!

Once the classroom time is complete we will move out to shoot two stages representing the two disciplines we have discussed.

An understanding of basic shooting fundamentals and the ability to comfortably and safely draw from the holster is required in order to attend this class.

You will need to bring:

  • Eye & Ear Protection

  • Your firearm, along with at least two magazines

  • A sturdy belt & holster. If you have magazine carriers please bring them, but if you don’t that is totally fine. (You will learn what you need to purchase for equipment in this class)

  • 50 rounds of ammunition

A baseball cap is highly recommended. No low cut shirts or open toed shoes.

This class will be hosted at Pioneer Sportsmen, in Dunbarton, NH.

Class Duration is four hours. This is a Co-ed class.
